"Ralph Skynner (sometimes spelt Skinner) was a curate at the Parish Church of St. Nicholas, Sutton, Surrey, some mile and a half from Nonesuch. The wife of Ralph Skynner was a sister of Lady Temple, the wife of Sir William Temple (1555 -1627).provost of Trinity College, Dublin"

Sir William Temple's wife was possibly either a Martha Harrington or Martha Harrison (dau of Robert Harrison of Derbyshire)

As early as 1624, Ralph Skinner, Rector of Sutton, made a translation of the Yad ha-Hazakah, the MS. of which is now in the library of Trinity College.

There is a copy of a letter, signed Ralph Skinner, addressed to Usher, in which the position is defended "that the Israelites passed not over the Red Sea transversion," and two other letters from the same person, all of which are printed in the appendix to "The Life of Dr. James Usher, Archbishop of Armagh", by Dr. Richard Parr.
