At a meeting held on Monday 20th June 2022 of the Members and Trustees of The Friends of St Nicholas Churchyard, the trustees voted to make a small but significant change to the charitable object for the Friends.
The change of object would allow the charity to be involved in fundraising for build works for the church building e.g. accessibility changes or floodlighting repairs. It would also enable FSNCY to partner with SUTTONfx and help in the creation of the Dr George Rice Community Garden on Gibson Road adjacent to the Churchyard.
This change is allowed to be under the constitution with the proviso "No change can be made that would make the organisation no longer a charity.".
