Announcing new history lectures and rambles for 2023


The Churchyard Rambles are back, joined by a series of talks over the Summer.  We will be adding more events into the programme of activities for 2023.  But please add these dates to your calendar now!

The Churchyard Friends Lectures
11:30 to 12:30 in St Nicholas Church
  • Thursday 18th May 2023 - Dirty Rotten Scoundrels - The criminal clergy of St Nicholas
  • Thursday 15th June 2023 - Reconstructing Alice's world.  The life of a 15th-century village
  • Thursday 20th July 2023 - Two medieval priests from Sutton and the role they played in creating modern English
  • Thursday 17th August 2023 - The window glass of St Nicholas Church
Churchyard Rambles

These will be short walks and talks to explore the history of Sutton. Noon meeting at tower door at St Nicholas.
