The Friends of the Dr George Rice Community Garden are preparing for the return of the students to the Community Garden for work-based learning as the new academic year starts. They have a volunteer working party next Saturday 31st August. They plan to open up the second half of the garden for school and college use. Jobs will range from using hand saws and branch lopping to using secateurs to snip vegetation and fill waste bags. You can use the benches for work if you are not very mobile and if gardening is not your cup of tea, then you could always make cups of tea!
