The shoots of the daffodils are starting to poke their heads above ground in St Nicholas Churchyard. It won't be long before there is a golden sheen around the church.
And that means the Field of Hope sign will make an appearance again. Part of the Churchyard on the north side is designated a Marie Curie Field of Hope. A Field of Hope is an area of grass and daffodils blooming annually that provides a special area to reflect for those who have had their own personal experience of terminal illness or, for some, to remember a loved one.

The Field of Hope was created in the early 2000s and the faculty granted for the sign says that it can only be displayed while the bulbs are 'up' and the flowers are blooming.
