BBC History magazine - Dr George Rice a black Victorian who forged modern Britain

We are late in sharing this but huge thanks go to one of the members, Amanda, for pointing out that the story of Dr George Rice was included in an article in the Christmas Edition of the BCC History Magazine.  The article was by Keshia Abraham and John Woolf who wrote the book "Black Victorians Hidden in History".

Dr George Rice is a Sutton resident of national importance and we are so glad that St Nicholas has such a strong link to his story.  The Community Garden next door to the churchyard is named in his memory.
