Spring is nearly here. The bulbs are starting to poke their heads above the ground and soon we expect to see the daffodils brightening up the churchyard.
Another sign of spring coming was when our Friends at the Dr George Rice Community Garden held a short 'Plough Wednesday' service yesterday to help them get ready for the work of the new year.
Plough Sunday is an ancient tradition where agricultural communities marked going back to work after the Christmas feast. Volunteers from Greenholm School attended the service and blessing of gardening tools.
God speed the plough!
