Calling all history buffs! Sutton's beloved statue of Anne Boleyn is back, and you have a chance to see it before it returns to its permanent home in Carshalton.
The famous wooden carving by local artist Dennis Huntley will be on display at a special exhibition about his work at St Nicholas Church in Sutton from June 11th to June 20th. This is a fantastic opportunity to get up close to a true Sutton treasure.
The statue's grand return:
- Dates: June 11th - June 20th
- Times: Noon to 2 pm and 4 pm to 6 pm (except Saturday)
- Special extended hours: Saturday, June 15th (9 am to 6 pm)
Bonus! St Nicholas Church will be paying homage to Queen Elizabeth II on the morning of June 15th (from 9 am to 11:30 am).
About Anne Boleyn:
For those unfamiliar with English history, Anne Boleyn was King Henry VIII's second wife. She was Queen of England from 1533 to 1536.
